EXCURSIONS
Although the main focus at Sondela Academy is to provide workplace training, we also strive to give our learners the opportunity to experience the industry in a wider environment. As part of the curriculum of the various courses, learners visit places of interest and are shown avenues where they can explore new ideas. We have a midi-bus that is used for excursions.
Electrical Learnership
Previous learners have visited the distribution centre at Bela Bela to learn more about the distribution of power in South Africa. Learners have also visited a power station to see where electricity is generated.
Tourist Guiding
The Tourist Guiding Learnerships visited various museums in the Polokwane region to learn about the heritage of the Limpopo Province. They also visited Marakele National Park to learn about conservation within the park and travelled to Thabazimbi in order to work out tours in that region.
Chefs and Hotel/Lodge Management
Whenever there are food preparation shows in Gauteng, learners are encouraged to attend in order to gain insight into the latest industry trends.
Here are some photos of our recent tours to Polokwane and Thabazimbi.
